“The Lanterns studio is by far the largest, most comfortable studio I have worked in in London. It was an absolute joy to create Grand Finale there, in that vast space, with our set, being able to stand back, see, learn, and respond to the work.
It’s located close to Canary Wharf so commute is comfortable, and most importantly it is run by lovely people.
I enjoyed my time there and look forward to returning!”

“The rise of London’s property market is seemingly relentless, but whilst this surge may bring great financial reward to landlords and developers, it presents an increased threat to artistic and creative spaces, which perhaps are not considered to offer such lucrative fiscal benefit. One such space currently under threat is The Lanterns Studio Theatre, where I have had the pleasure of rehearsing and creating new work. This valuable community resource – well-used by professional companies such as mine as well as a host of amateur and youth organisations – is unique in the Docklands and wider East London area. Having created choreography for and danced in the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, I have seen for myself the regenerative power of arts and creativity in this area of our capital, and strongly support Lanterns in its efforts to ensure that its future is secured for the good of London’s vibrant artistic community.”

“It is always a joy to return and work at Lanterns. With a warm welcome and an eagerness to support the creative process, the Lanterns team ensure an attentive and bespoke hire – allowing KND to wholeheartedly focus on the artistic work at hand. The vast studio – with all of its’ amenities – enable us to reach our participants with the personal, high-quality and professional approach that is vital to our work.”
